The Klab Ecosystem

How it Works

At KLab, we’ve designed a seamless system that puts learners in control of their data while connecting everyone who supports them—parents, teachers, hospitals, and communities. Here’s how it works:

01 Start with the Child

What happens:
A teacher, parent, or healthcare worker notices a child may need extra support. They refer the child to their nearest county hospital.

Why it matters:
Early identification means faster help. No more waiting months for distant specialists.

02 Functional Assessments

What Happens

Doctors and experts at your local hospital create a digital report about your child’s needs. It’s saved safely in their KLab Wallet app

Why it matters

No more lost paperwork, data silos or long trips to far-off County EARCs. The report stays with your child forever, and you decide who sees it.

03 Seamless Community Support

What Happens
If needed, affordable local specialists (e.g., speech therapists) provide pre-school support. Each session’s progress updates their KLab Wallet securely.
Why It Matters

Lifelong records replace repeated assessments and lost files. Local care cuts costs by 60% vs. private clinics, with community-backed consistency.

04 Enrollment and Personalized Learning

What Happens
Teachers (with family permission) access the child’s KLab Wallet to review needs and strengths. They then use AI tools to co-create a tailored learning programs (IEP) with parents in minutes, not weeks.
Why It Matters
Data-backed AI eliminates guesswork, suggesting proven strategies. Teachers save hours on paperwork, focusing on teaching, not forms.

05 Lifelong Learning

What happens:
As the child progresses, new data (grades, therapist notes, IEPs, medical data, family socia eonomic indicators) is added to their KLab Wallet. Teachers and parents update learning plans together, ensuring support evolves with the child.

Why it matters:
Children hold their data for life, data moves with the child, even if they switch schools. It also empowers families to decide who accesses data—no more bureaucratic walls.

06 The KLab Ecosystem

Think of our system as a digital bridge connecting everyone who supports a child:

  1. Learner Wallet: A secure app where children/families store disability reports, IEPs, and progress—like a medical file, but for learning.
  2. Verified Data: Hospitals, schools and specialists issue reports as tamper-proof verifiable digital certificates (no forged papers!) providing lifelong verifiable disability data.
  3. AI Assistant: Teachers type simple questions (“How do I help a child with dyslexia?”) and get instant, data-backed strategies.
  4. AI tools: Teachers and parents leverage AI to generate and track highly personalized learning pathways for children with disabilities.

Why families and teachers love it:

  1. Costs drop: No more duplicate assessments for each enrollment or IEP. No lost files or files spread everywhere (hospitals, EARCs, schools, at home).
  2. Single Source of the truth: All data is held and owned by the child in their Klab SSI wallet, enabling them to share the data at will, privately.
  3. Control stays local: Communities run services; families own data.
  4. No internet? No problem. Klab wallets are also accessed over the web or through email. We are also working to make it work offline over SMS on basic smartphones.

KLab aims to empower rural and urban communities with skills, tools, and knowledge necessary to improve their ability to develop innovative solutions for access to resources
